Grace VanDerhei, Administrative Coordinator, has a diverse background in environmental and agricultural subject areas and has a diverse background in environmental sustainability and public health. Grace is an alumna the University of Wisconsin- Madison, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Global Health and an undergraduate certificate in Environmental Studies in 2023. Her primary academic focus was on environmental health and ecosystem sustainability, which allowed Grace to gain a sense of familiarity with the interconnectedness of human health and the environment. As an undergraduate student, Grace participated in community outreach and science engagement at local Madison-area community centers. Furthermore, Grace researched the role of nitrogen fertilizer on plant growth under elevated carbon dioxide and the implications of such on pollinator nutrition. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Health at Purdue University.

Grace has previous experience in a non-profit role as a student board member of the Rock River Coalition and as an Environmental Educator and Community Assistant with the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Monona, WI. Additionally, she completed a Science and Policy internship with Clean Wisconsin. In a research capacity, Grace has experience collecting water quality data and identifying invasive species for land restoration.

As administrative coordinator, Grace provides administrative support for the WEHN board, manages WEHN communication channels, assists in event planning and management, and provides WEHN representation in coalitions and advocacy groups.
